Galloping Gavel
New Rules & Regulations
The jurisdiction is changing the Galloping Gavel program in a new and improved way to earn the Gavel for your chapter.
How to get the Gavel. The gavel will be at every State event, the chapter with the most amount of Active DeMolays present will earn the gavel. Prospects do not count as members. The Gavel will then go with that chapter until the next state event. At the next event the gavel will be given back to the Jurisdiction Officers. The chapter with the most Active DeMolays present will gain possession of the gavel.
The Prize. The chapter that gets possession of the gavel the most throughout the term will win $150.00 check. The chapter can use this money for what ever they decide to.
Rules
• A chapter is not allowed to visit another chapter to steal the gavel. The only way to earn the gavel is by showing up at state events.
• The Jurisdiction Officers are the only ones allowed to reward the gavel.
• Jurisdiction Officers will keep track of who gets it each time.
• The Chapter that has possession of the gavel must bring it to the next state event. You will be reminded by the state to bring it.
